This was a contest with a friend. He claimed that one can only work with high poly models, everything else should not even be used. He did not believe that you can improve low poly models with a few effects like blurs or lightings. So I hereby is trying to show him that it goes well. All models are very low poly with small textures.
Low Polys are very good when it comes to large fleet scenes, or in my case you have a weak work station. The best is still a mix of both. Low Polys for the background and a high poly model for the foreground.
Long time ago that i have made something for Babylon 5, while it belongs next to Star Trek and Mass Effect to my favorite universes.
Rendered in 3d Max 10
Background and post work in Paint Shop Pro 7
Lighting Effects in Adobe After Effects CS4
Star Fury by Mark Kane
Omega Destroyer by Unknown (tell me if know the modelers name)

Oh my god you remember/know that those things on the Omega's chin are actually weapons. It is a shame how under use those are, understandable when they were never use in show due to VFX limitations but for fan artist?
Now I just need to find someone who has the Omega firing its missiles, the red circles on the broadsides are their hatches...
