Mass Effect - Tartarus Field
I've been sitting for a while on this fanart.
I wanted to reproduce the scene from Mass Effect 2, shortly after the Normandy leaving the Omega 4 relay and lands in the Tartarus debris field.
For the non- Mass Effect players: The Tartarus debris field is a huge debris field in the near of the galactic core. Only accessible through the Omega 4 mass relay. The field is made up of antique ships that have tried in the past thousands of years to fly through the portal, but were destroyed by the collectors.
All items and effects in this picture are in 3d. There was no post work. The debris field is composed of more than 4000 individual objects. The Background Nebula was painted in Paint Shop Pro 7

And finally: I adore Mass Effect. Even the ending (as ONE ending) was not so bad, except for a few plot holes. I'm looking forward to the DLC for the end.

First off, great work!
Man, I always get the chills watching this scene - that was CLOSE! Imagine they decelerate 0.1 second slower and they'd probably end with a BAM! And also imagine the ship crashes into the debris at, like, 5,000 times lightspeed... man.
